TRANSPORT AND TRAFFIC SAFETY
1.Define the region you will investigate with a short explanation.
Ans: I will be investigating Mumbai Central Station. This region is always in chaos. At present ongoing construction of the Metro Transport System is making the roads of the city narrower by the day and adding to general unrest in this area. This has led to difficulties for people of all genres may they be businessmen or students and has caused inconveniences like reaching a destination later than expected a common nuisance.

2.Which are private and public means of transport used by different groups of people in your region? Which traffic safety problems do different groups of people experience?
Ans: Public means of transport here in India include B.E.S.T. buses, cabs, railway trains and vehicle services like Ola and Uber. A major traffic safety issue is that there are far too many vehicles on the roads causing major issues. Taking the example of buses, a number of brand new electrical buses have been introduced with should have led to greater consistency and better facilities of transport. However with the influx of private vehicles on roads the frequency of these buses is decreasing and their value undermined.

Ans: In my opinion people are satisfied with the current state of public means of transport with regard to the fare as now we can reach far off places of our city paying merely a fraction of the cost it would take to reach the same destination with a private vehicle and perhaps even taking lesser time than it otherwise would take.

Ans: Almost all people travel by car, bus, or other methods of transportation whether it be to school , workplace or otherwise on a day to day basis. People have also started using carpool resources to travel to both share the fare and reduce the burden on roads. Thus this greater awareness spread among the people has led to greater improvement of the society as a whole.

COMPARISON AND REFLECTION:
While comparing the two regions, we have learnt that in Netherlands, they have a good transport system and most people are satisfied with the traffic and transport system available. India also has a good transport system and network, but the major issue we face in comparison is Traffic jam which has led to difficulties for people of all genres may they be businessmen or students and has caused inconveniences like reaching a destination later than expected a common nuisance.
REFLECTION :
The entire team worked in co-operation and managed to complete our task on time. It was a great learning experience. The project topic helped us to survey our region and understand about our transport system. Creating a Weebly web page was a great learning experience for us.
